About the fund

Morry at his beloved Mason & HamlinFor 20 years and 486 performances, Morry Reynolds performed in the chorus of the Virginia Opera. He also supported the Opera by housing visiting artists and hosting some of the liveliest opera cast parties the region has seen. He hosted his last party two days before he succumbed to cancer in May 2013.

Throughout his career with the Opera, he cherished the opportunity to welcome young and visiting artists, show them the ropes and lead by example. A consummate professional, he took very seriously his musicianship, preparation and performances; music was his passion.

In a final gesture indicative of his kind, giving spirit and his love of performing with the Virginia Opera, the beautiful contents of Morry’s home were, at his desire, auctioned. His wish was that the proceeds from the sale be used as the beginning of a fund to benefit Emerging Artists of the Virginia Opera.

And so the Morry Reynolds Fund is born. Visit this link to contribute and be sure to note the Morry Reynolds Fund.
